What Is Your Most Embarrassing Moment?

This week, we wanted to know some of the LoneStar Team's most embarrassing moments, just for fun. Check out the responses we received:

Lana - Not too long ago, I thought I would ride this old bike that my dad gave to me. This bike was so old, he said he would ride it when he was young. My kids and some friends were teasing me about trying to ride this bike, so I took the dare!!

I told them I could ride better that anyone around the table. So, I got on the bike and went to pedal, but the pedals wouldn't turn! They were stuck; and I mean stuck! I flipped over backward, with this bike in my hands and I didn't even let go to brace myself. It looked like a cartoon. I landed on my back with the bike still up in the air. The next thing I knew, I was on the ground looking up at the sky!

All I could hear was my children and friends laughing so hard until they couldn't move. They didn't even come check on me to see if I was ok. I then heard the neighbor guy (not to mention a really cute guy) came over to see if I was ok. I told him I was, but heard him laughing as he walked away. I couldn't even look over at his house for a while. Every time he would saw me from then on he would laugh. I haven't tried to ride a bike in such a long while. LOL

Rob - It was last Thursday. I went outside to call my son to come and pick me up. I looked around in the parking lot to make sure that no one was going to hear what I was about to do, so I let one go. My son answered and as I turned around, there sat one of my co-workers. The End!

Now don't be bashful; tell us of some of your most embarrassing moments. Do any of them top ours? :o)

Happy Ballpoint Pen Day!

Although they've been dated as far back as 1888, the first official Ballpoint Pen was created by László Bíró, a Hungarian newspaper editor, in 1938. He had noticed that the type of ink used in newspaper printing dried much more quickly than the modern day fountain pens. He decided to create a new pen using the same type of ink and did so by fitting a tiny ball bearing in his new pen's tip. This allowed the the pen to move freely along the paper, picking up the thicker, quick-drying ink from inside the ink cartridge and leaving it on the paper without smudging or running.

László Bíró's first pen design was patented in Great Britain on June 15, 1938. He later filed a second patent for his design on June 10, 1940 upon moving to Argentina. Today, we now celebrate National Ballpoint Pen Day on June 10th in his honor, so Happy Ballpoint Pen Day!

And here at LoneStar, we thought, what a better way to celebrate Ballpoint Pens than with a specialty Pen Holder Lanyard!

Great for the entire office, LoneStar's Pen Holder Lanyards are available with your company's custom printing and your choice of many material and printing colors. We have the both comfy cotton as well as light-weight corded style Pen Holder Lanyards to choose from. Check out our selection online and let us help you start creating your Pen Holder Lanyards today to celebrate László Bíró's great Ballpoint Pen invention.

LoneStar Summer Memories

Well, we're definitely feeling the summer heat now here in Texas. As we make plans for all the fun things we'll be doing again now that it's finally summer, we also remember our favorite memories from summers in the past. Check out some of the LoneStar Team's Favorite Summer memories...

Matt - I shoved a smoke bomb in my pants and ran around the yard acting like I was on fire and laughed till i realized that my pants were on fire and pulled my pants off to the great joy of my neighbors laughing there faces off at the stupid white kid setting himself on fire those were the days

Lana - I remember when I would make mud pies and sell them to all the neighbors. They would
actually pay me for them. I always wondered if my dad gave them money to buy them. LOL

Rob - I think it was 1969 or 1970, I was 9 or 10, my parents took my brother and sister and I to Lake Michigan in Grand Haven Michigan. I remember the water being crystal clear and freezing cold in the middle of August. We stayed in a cabin and the next day we rented a boat and went fishing. It was great!

Pamela - When I was little, my sisters and I spent every day at the Landa Park Spring Fed Pool in New Braunfels where we played and swam with my parents' best friends' 3 girls. The 6 of us spent hours playing rag tag with other kids at the pool, day after day after day. We had a blast!

Benito - There is one thing that comes to mind, I was raised in a farm and one summer we were picking cotton and I was unloading my cotton I had picked from my sack. I was on top of the trailer and fail off, lucky I didn't get hurt.

Eric - I remember how I used to love to ride my bike with my cousins down to the city park. Then we would go swimming at the river and ride our bikes back home all wet. But thinking back I don't think we ever told anybody where we were going because the river was a couple of miles away. I must have been about 12 or 13 years old.
