The LoneStar Team's Favorite Movies

To get a little more familiar with the LoneStar Team, we asked them all what their favorite movie was as a child. We also wanted to know which was the last good movie they saw. Check out how the Team responded...

Joe - SUPERBAD ; MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE (80's cheesy movie)

Tasha - Righteous Kill was the last good movie I saw and I loved Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory as a child.

Benito - Last good movie "The Unforgiven" Client Eastwood, movie as a child "The Three Stoogies"

Matt - The last good movie I saw was Pineapple Express. I had to pause the movie like three times cause I was laughing so hard I was crying. And as a child Star Wars which are still my favorite movies

Jason - I watched a British film last night called Driving Lessons and it absolutely blew me away. It was one of the best movies I've ever seen in my life.
Favorite as a child...probably Return of the Jedi. The Kirkwood 3 used to pretend tennis balls were laser beams from a gun, and spray-painted bamboo sticks were lightsabers. Many a summer day were spent defending our treehouse space stations.

Chad - The last good movie I saw was Tropic Thunder. Gotta love Hollywierd making fun of itself. My favorite movie as a child and all time is Ghostbusters. Bill Murray is my favorite actor and I still have the whole thing memorized!

Rob - "WALL-E" was really good. I watched it with Corinthian, my 4 yr. old grand son. Favorite movie as a child would have to be "Its a Mad,Mad,Mad,Mad World!"

Alicia - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Savannah Smiles

Pamela - Favorite movie as a child: Airplane
Last good movie that I saw: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Lana - Twilight and my favorite as a child would have to be Wizard of OZ.

The LoneStar Team's Phobias

Everybody has a fear of at least something. This week, find out what things the LoneStar Team is afraid of:

Corina - I'm terrified of tarantulas, heights, and caves.

Matt - I'm not scared of lighting but I'm terrified of lighting hitting me

Chad - I'm afraid of sharks and hobbits.

Mary - My phobias....? I ain't afraid of nothin'!

Harold - I have a Survey phobia

Benito - Certain types of snakes, large spiders, and roller coasters.

Lana - Garden Gnomes and Heights

Pamela - To name a few phobias: cleithrophobia (locked in confined spaces), herpetophobia (creepy crawly things) & panthophobia (suffering)

Rob - Samoan women with freckles and restaurant workers with no teeth.

Tasha - When I read the survey question for this week, I thought, "I have a few of those," but I didn't know what exact terms were for them; so I looked up phobias and realized there are an astronomical amount of different phobias from A to Z! As I started reading through the beginning of the A's, I found the one.

Anuptaphobia - Fear of staying single.

After the last several disastrous dates I've been on, I fear I will be single for the rest of my life. Ha! For example, one person was still living with their significant other and wanted to date me at the same time...no no. Another proceeded to tell me, on our first meeting, of all the partners they had in the past 4 months. Can you say STD? Another was proud of their Jewish faith, but wanted to meditate in the wilderness somewhere. That confused me. I think the last one was bipolar. That scared me.

Actually, I may be developing a fear of dating! LOL.....I wonder what the term for that is?

Alicia - I have a fear of being unprepared. I always pack extra things just in case and carry extra things around with me. I like to keep my balls in the air at all times so I get really anxious if any get dropped.

Most Memorable Road Trips

Road trips are always so much fun, so this week we thought it would be an interesting idea to share some memorable moments of The LoneStar Team's favorite road trips. Check out where the LoneStar Team has been and what made it so memorable:

*Matt* TWO WINTERS AGO, ME AND MY FRIEND JACK GOT BORED AND DROVE TO KANSAS. NO CLUE WHY AND IT IS SO MEMORABLE BECAUSE OF EVERYTHING WE DID (I CAN'T TYPE OR THE WHOLE STORY WOULD BE CENSORED LOL). IT WAS FUN, PUT IT THAT WAY. A.D.D. AND ROAD TRIPS DON'T MIX! that is the moral of the story

*Jason* My favorite road trip of all time would have to be the first one I went on without my parents.
I guess it was 05 or 06 and I was 16 or 17. Me and 3 of my buddies went on a week-long camping expedition to South Padre Island. 3 days of sleeping on sandy inflatable pool floaties was quite enough, so for the remaining 4 days the 4 of us invaded my cousin's mansion in Katy, TX which is quite a distance from the beach. We laughed non-stop the entire time and had mud 4-wheeler races, saw Transformers, had a hide-n-seek tournament in a house full of mirrors, went swimming daily, and all sat up at night talking and laughing and annoying the crap out of my Aunt and Uncle. I cant remember the last time I laughed that hard for so many days in a row.

*Benito* Arizona. I drove from Kyle to Arizona and visited relatives I haven't seen in years last March 08.

*Chad* I remember going to New York City with my family when I was a kid, maybe 1988-89ish. We saw the sights, including the World Trade Center. Someday I'll take my new son Jack to the Freedom Tower. :)

*Lana* When I was young we would take trips to Louisiana to see family. We would stay down there for weeks at a time. We would Swim, eat good food, & play in the woods. I loved it !

*Levi* I flew up to drive my ex-girlfriend from Colorado where she was going to school back to Texas for Christmas last year and then drove her back. I just remember making all these random stops and taking pictures, like those giant windmill generators you see in the middle of no where? Their HUGE up close!

*Alicia* When I was in college, a friend of mine lived in Lafayette, LA. A few of us decided to go visit him and make a trip to New Orleans for the weekend. We decided to take my car since it was the newest thinking it would be the most dependable. We left around midnight because we had to wait for one of the girls to get off from work. About an hour into the trip, my car breaks down. Fortunately, we were able to get to a phone and someone had AAA so we had my car towed back to San Marcos. There were 4 of us and the tow truck driver in the cab of this tow truck. It was quite funny! We arrived back home about 4 am and decided to give it another try and headed out again in my friend's car. We were delirious, but this time we made it and enjoyed the rest of the weekend in New Orleans :)

Creating an Amazing Name Badge Layout

When designing your company's new name badges, there are so many factors to think about before you even place your first order. Initially, you'll have to choose a badge style and material or printing process that would best fit your application, along with the perfect badge size and fastener. The list of add-on options goes on and on as well, but then just when you have it all figured out and think you're ready to place your finalized badge order, you're asked a whole new set of questions - this time about the layout.

"Where would you like the logo and names to be placed on the badges?"
"How big should they be?"
"What colors would you like to use for the artwork and names?"

Well, if you're finding yourself at that point and a little confused about how to arrange the layout for your new name badges, take a few pointers from the LoneStar Team to help you create an amazing layout.

1. First and foremost, you need to make sure you have a copy of your artwork in a high quality type of file, such as a vector file. The better the artwork's resolution, the easier time our layout artists will have trying to arrange the art on the badges and the better the final art will look on the badges once printed.

2. Make sure the material colors and printing colors you select won't clash once printed together. Try to keep your background colors or images simple and less detailed if you have a vibrant or busy logo, and vise versa if your background is busy or detailed.

3. If your logo is on the larger side or has many fine or intricate details, you might consider increasing the height or width of your badge to ensure no distorting or blurring of the artwork occurs while printing and the layout lines print out clean and smooth.

4. If your logo or artwork is circular or oval, you might also want to try a rounded badge instead if the standard rectangular badges. The logo would mesh well in almost any spot on a circular or oval badge, leaving plenty of room for the names and titles to be printed underneath.

With these few tips from LoneStar and your imagination, you can create an amazing badge layout for your company. For more information, please visit the Artwork section in LoneStar's FAQ pages or feel free to contact us at any time. We look forward to helping you create an amazing layout soon!
