All Time Favorite Halloween Costumes

This week we thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite Halloween costumes. Let's see what the Team's top picks for favorite all time costumes are...

Levi Some of my friends are going as the guys from "King of the Hill". They are building a fence to carry around with an ice chest and everything. I thought that pretty much beat everything. Haha.

Shealee Well, being that I haven't really dressed up for Halloween in a while, I would have to say this year's costume! I am going to be an army cadet! I totally love CAMO and it is blinged out with sequence and rhinestones to give it that girlie flair! I Can't Wait! ;P

Tasha Wanda from In Living Color...I was such a good character, everyone I knew thought I was of another ethnicity and didn't recognized me until I laughed.

Lana My favorite costumes of all time have to be the Couples costumes. They are so cute! I like the Batman and Batgirl, Doctor and Nurse, Little Bo Peep and the Sheep, Police Officer and the Prisoner, Tin Man and Dorothy, Superman and Supergirl. And of course we can't forget the kids costumes. They are the best! I love Halloween!!! I can't wait to see all of you at my party!
SEE YA THERE!

Lindsay My favorite all time costume was a scarecrow costume my mom and I made when I was around 9 or so. I wore overalls, a straw hat, lots of flannel, and had hay (my "stuffing") sticking out of everywhere. I remember it was itchy, but adorable.

Jason My favorite costume would have to be the M&M.
I always wanted to be one.
Since I was a wee lad I looked up to the M&M.
One day I will be The M&M!!!!!

Chad Get some black paint, ink, make-up or whatever and give yourself a black eye, then draw a "P" on your shirt.

What will you be this year for Halloween? And what is your favorite all time costume? Let us know!
Happy Halloween from the LoneStar Team!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

To all those who will be observing Halloween this year, The LoneStar Team would like to wish you a Wonderfully Spooky Day! Have fun and be safe as you Trick, Treat, or just relax and enjoy the *sweet* festivities. :)

What Color Are You?

This week, everyone at LoneStar was asked...
"If you could be any color from the Crayon Box, what color would you be?"
Here are the Team's answers:

LEVI: I would be that Dark Blue/Green color because it's just a cool color. Whatever you draw with it instantly becomes cool because it is that color: Hair, clothes, a house, a drum set, a car, the sky, or the grass. Instant coolness.

LANA: Tickle Me Pink because Pink is my signature color! I am a Pink kind of Girl!

JASON: I'd be the white crayon because...
*Approximately 1500 years ago the greatest red-head-gone-blond wizard of the day was on his way to save the tribe of the oomdabelly people when he was savagely struck down from his floating iPod by a deadly blow-fish, he managed to mutter with his last gasping breath, "Now I am dying, yes this is tragic. Into white crayons I put all my magic.*
So the white crayon is actually full of magic you just have to know how to harness its unrelenting power.

TASHA: This week's survey question is too difficult for me. I must inform that I cannot limit myself to choose one color out of a box of Crayola's. If I were to answer this question appropriately, I would have to choose "Rainbow". I'm sure Crayola has already picked up on the idea of creating a crayon with multiple layers of colors, however, they would never put that crayon in a box. That crayon would have to be sold separately as it is unique in form just the same as I am...lol!!

MAT: I am Brad Pitt blue, cause his eyes are so gorgeous :)

CHAD: I would be White Chocolate because it is a confection of sugar, cocoa butter, and milk solids. The melting point of cocoa butter is high enough to keep white chocolate solid at room temperature, yet low enough to allow white chocolate to melt in the mouth. White chocolate thus has a texture similar to that of milk chocolate however is not technically a chocolate.

SHEALEE: Aquamarine! Because it's personality traits are *calm* *relaxed* & *loyal*. Not only does that color have sentimental value to me it's been said since early times, aquamarine has been believed to endow the wearer with foresight, courage, and happiness and also increases intelligence and makes one youthful. Plus it goes great with my eyes! ;P

LINDSAY: I think I would be the purple crayon. It just suits me best. It's not quite a classic color like red or blue, but it's not as flashy as neon pink or green either.

So, if you had to choose one Crayon Box Color to represent you, which color would YOU be?

What Cartoon Character Best Describes You?

We recently asked each of our LoneStar staff members to tell us which cartoon character they thought best described themselves. Check out the responses we received this week.....

TASHA: Peppermint Patty

ROB: I think I'm like "Popeye" because I like spinach, I'm losing my hair, and my wife kinda looks like "Olive Oyle."

JASON: I'd have to say Pikachu because he's (I'm) so cute, everybody LOVES him, all the girls want to be with him, and all the guys are scared of him. And, he can zap anything that gets in his way. That's me for sure!

LANA: Jane Jetson best describes me because she and I have a lot in common! Like Jane, I have a daughter (Judy, Erica), a son (Elroy, Garret), a husband (George, Jermaine), and a dog (Astro, Daffnie). The only things I'm missing are the full-time Housekeeper (I'm the housekeeper in my family), the flying space car (although I fly pretty well down the road in my Jeep), and her house is the coolest house in the sky (my house is only the coolest when I turn the A/C down to 60!) :) Anyway, Jane is a caring mom and loves to take care of her family. She's always there to fix any problem that may arise. I think that I'm equally as loving and caring for my family, and that I am there in any crisis to fix it all!

SHEALEE: I would have to say I am like WISH BEAR from the Care Bears! I am the dreamer of the group and always believe that things will all turn out exactly how I want them to be. I have optimism that often annoys my friends, but they realize that I do have the power to make my dreams come true. I also keep an eye out for my friends, always looking out for them ;)

Items from the Kitchen

This week, we decided to get a little more creative when asking our usual weekly staff survey question. We thought it would be...well, interesting to say the least...if we found out "What one item in the kitchen best describes you and your personality?" The responses were great! Check out what the LoneStar Team had to say about themselves...

CHAD: The Fridge, because I'm cool. :)

LANA: Sugar Bowl Because I'm Sweet!

ROB: I think I'm kind of like a Potholder; sometimes I'm hot, sometimes I'm not.

SHEALEE: I would have to go with a BLENDER! Like a blender, I have different settings and functions that make up my personality but at the end of the day they all "blend" together to create a balance of my character.

ALICIA: A cookbook cause I like to create lists and spell out directions.

JASON: I'm a blender! I'm loud, wild, and I like to mix it up!

If you had to describe yourself as one item from the kitchen, what would
YOU choose??? Think about it...it's really a tough one! ; )

These Results Might SURPRISE You!

This week's survey gets a little personal, so be prepared! We asked the LoneStar Team..."What is something about you that people you know may find shocking or surprising?" Check out our responses:

ROB: I used to be a full time musician. I played guitar in bands from the age of 18 till around the age of 36. In 1979, the band I was in did a small mid-west tour with the bands "Boston" and "Cheap Trick". Later I did more of a jazz fusion instrumental type thing. It was fun and exciting, but it was time to settle down. Now I play a lot of acoustic guitar and write songs about life.

ALICIA: At one time, I wanted to join the Navy. I signed up with a recruiter to take the test and physical. At the last minute, my Dad talked me out of it. Also, I used to be a Domino's Pizza delivery driver. I loved it! It was such a fun job!!

JOE: I like to read on my spare time.

LINDSAY: I love pizza and my favorite TV show is "I Love Lucy".

LEVI: SO I had to tell this story again. Just for the blog my classic story, most surprising thing I've ever done for sure...
At work, I must have been in a really good mood. I was feeling a little tired so I went to a nearby gas station to get something to drink. While getting my fountain drink I thought to myself: dang, I don't have anyone to shoot this straw at. Then I noticed the small 16-18 year old girl working the counter, and I thought to myself: "haha, that'd be funny."
SO I unwrapped half the straw to where I could hold it in my mouth and prepared to walk up to the counter. The girl turns around as I shoot the paper from the straw and it hits her DEAD ON in the middle of her forehead! Classic. Her response... "what the heck!" Then she got really confused/angry and just said "your weird!"... not in a good tone.
Halfway through the awkward check-out, she says: "You don't even know me?! And you just..."
so i finished for her: "Ya, I did, and your going to go home, and tell all your friends that some random guy came in here and shot you in the face with a straw!" and she simply replied... "ya..." in a sigh.
Then I left. As soon as I reached my car I COULD NOT STOP LAUGHING, and could not for the next two hours. HAHA.

JASON: The Day I Thought I'd Lost My Little Brother: The month was November, the air was piercing cold. Young Mikal and I had ventured out into the field to work on our new fort for the approaching winter. Mikal decides to take a break from the fort constructing and go inside to get some leftover Thanksgiving turkey. I remain behind to continue the fort building process. 20 minutes or so pass, and suddenly I hear an oh-too-familiar crying. So I followed the sound of the wails only to find my young brother at the bottom of the tree in our front yard. He had apparently decided to climb it to eat his fat hunk of turkey, slipped, busted his lip, scraped his stomach, and spit turkey all over the ground. But to my young undeveloped mind, he had slipped, hit his stomach, and the impact of the stomach blow had caused him to blast his intestines all over the ground (the turkey); the bloody mouth only assured this assumption even further. So as I fall to my knees and begin to scream "No God No Please No!", Mikal just wails on and I am now rivaling his powerful screeches, naturally all this commotion is bound to attract some visitors. Our Australian shepherd (Joey) comes over to see what the fuss is about and quickly begins eating what I believe is my brother's organs. So as I take Mikal into the house thinking each step could be his last, he finally explains about the turkey and the lip busting and I was so relieved I didn't even feel like a total idiot. That changed my life forever!

TASHA: Approximately 6 years ago, I was out with two friends of mine. On our way to the next "establishment", I walked ahead to give the love birds a little alone time as I was the third wheel that night. As soon as I saw the walk signal letting me know it was "safe" to cross the street, a white Dodge Ram 4x4 begins to take a left turn from the intersecting street. Therefore, I hesitate to cross. Well, the driver then hesitated, so I proceeded to walk. As soon as I am directly in front of the truck, the driver hits the gas, hits me, and I go rolling 20 feet down the street. ...years before, I had a little training in tucking and rolling, so when the rolling stopped, I got back up in fighting stance, completely stunned and as if I was ready to attack. Fortunately, the training I had loosened me up enough to the point that I didn't have a scratch or any broken bones. After emerging from the ER, I was told I had a slight bruise on my left shoulder from the initial impact. Good times. My life has definitely been interesting.
