Lanyards can be handy tools for many events or applications. However, they come with so many options and add-on's that it can be difficult to choose. To help you out, here are some LoneStar Tips so you too can put together the perfect lanyard:
Tip 1: Choose the Right Material and Width for Your Lanyards...
When choosing the material type, take your lanyard application into consideration. If you want a durable and easy-to-clean material that would be ideal for industrial or outdoor use, try a heavy duty nylon or rubber material. However, if you might be looking for a light-weight and breathable material to remain comfortable all day long, choose a material such as cotton or a woven cord. Sometimes, the actual material availability will depend on which lanyard style you actually choose, however, the lanyard width will usually always be up to you. If you want to include custom artwork or text on your lanyards, you might consider a wider width material, depending on the detail in your artwork.
Tip 2: Make Sure Your Fastener Fits Your Application...
Most lanyard styles are offered with both plastic and metal
fastener options, and even some with different finishes. Also look out for other awesome fastener features such as dual fasteners and
detachable or retractable options. When choosing the fastener for your lanyards, just be sure to select something sturdy enough to support the items you wish to carry on your lanyards, without going overboard and making the lanyard too clumsy or heavy.
Tip 3: Adding Breakaways and Quick Releases...
If your lanyards are for use around children, in hospitals, or around heavy equipment, think of safety first! Including a
Breakaway or Quick Release to your lanyard's design can really come in handy and be a valuable addition to your lanyard's success. They generally aren't too much more expensive, averaging only a couple cents extra, and are specially made to be lightweight and comfortable.
Tip 4: Choose Colors that Make a Statement...
Bright, bold colors are a great way to catch a prospective eye.
Colors are the key factor in the overall final appearance of your lanyards and choosing the right colors can be essential to a professional-looking design. Make sure that if you choose to imprint on your lanyards, you choose colors that also fit well together. Printing a dark color, such as Navy Blue or Hunter Green, on a Black background material will tend not to look as clear as it would if Yellow or White were printed on the Black. Try to instead focus colors that look well together and will not clash, but that are opposites and stand out against one another.
